Welcome to my career portfolio
On this site, you'll find a breakdown of the entire process I went through to develop my career and of projects/ experiences that reflect my passion for music events and live entertainment. But before you explore my work, let me introduce myself and share a bit about my background.
About me

My name is Giacomo Persico, a 22 years old student from Italy. I'm a Leisure and Event Management student at Breda University of Applied Sciences, specializing in Live and Music Events. My passion for music and events started in Ibiza and has taken me across the globe, from the Netherlands to Spain, Italy, and Thailand. Thanks to this, I was able to gain hands-on experience in diverse and dynamic settings. Beyond events, I'm an avid sports enthusiast with a love for football, padel, running, and hitting the gym. I also have a deep appreciation for visual arts and architecture, particularly Western heritage and culture.
Welcome to my portfolio: where creativity, culture, and live experiences come together.
Live Events
My group hosted two live events. The first gave partecipants the opportunity to have a professional photo taken for their Linkedln page, and the second one was a visit to MainStage Den Bosch. We had a good amount of partecipants for both events, sadly I could not join the Linkedln workshop due to sickness.

MainStage Den Bosch- Starr Method
Situation
During a field trip my group organized at MainStage Den Bosch, I observed the preparations for a large-scale live event. , I had the chance to explore the venue, observe the planning process, and speak with staff about the logistical elements required to host a major event.
Task:
My goal was to gain insight into the logistical side of event production, especially how different departments coordinate behind the scenes.
Action:
I observed the staging, sound setup, crowd management planning, and spoke with some staff members. I linked what I saw to theoretical knowledge on crowd control and production logistics I had previously studied.

Result:
This experience helped me understand how large-scale events are structured and made me aware of the importance of coordination and timing. It also made me reflect on how sustainability and stakeholder communication are integrated into the process.
Reflection:
-
Theoretical basis: I connected real-life logistics to event theory (e.g. crowd flow, site mapping).
-
Investigative ability: I realized I need to prepare questions and do follow-up research next time.
-
Professionalism: I saw how calm, clear communication is key in a professional event setting.
-
Ethics & social orientation: I noted the importance of sustainability and noise control as part of social responsibility.
Next time, I’ll prepare better by setting clear learning goals and doing more active field research.
Producer Workshop- Starr Method
Situation:
As a group, we attended a music production workshop where we were introduced to the basics of FL Studio.
Task:
We were challenged to apply what we learned by working in teams to create a track in just 30 minutes.
Action:
I participated actively in the session and helped my group experiment with sounds and basic arrangement. Although we didn’t win, the experience made me realize how approachable music production can be.
Result:
This workshop gave me the confidence and motivation to seriously start learning production, a goal I had for a while. It also directly supports one of my SMART goals related to developing music production skills.

Reflection:
-
Theoretical basis: I was introduced to basic production theory (looping, layering, structure) and started applying it immediately.
-
Investigative ability: After the workshop, I began researching DAWs and production techniques on my own.
-
Professionalism: I developed my creative and collaboration skills under time pressure.
-
Ethics & social orientation: It made me think about how accessible tools like FL Studio can tranform creativity, especially for young or unknown artists.
This experience marked the real beginning of my journey into music production, and I’ve continued investing time in learning since.
Celebration day
Situation:
We attended Celebration Day at the chapel, where we connected with third-year students over drinks and music from DJ Damn Damian.
Task:
My goal was to network, gain insights from older students, and feel more connected to the BUas community.
Action:
I took the opportunity to start conversations, ask questions about their study paths and industry experiences, and learn from their perspectives.
Result:
This was my first real networking event at BUas, and it helped me build confidence in approaching people and discussing the industry. It also gave me a broader understanding of possible career directions.

Reflection:
-
Theoretical basis: I learned informally about career paths and specialisations, helping me think about my future direction.
-
Investigative ability: I used this moment to ask questions and collect experiences from older students as qualitative field research.
-
Professionalism: Improved my networking and communication skills in a relaxed, semi-professional setting.
-
Ethics & social orientation: It reinforced the value of community and peer support in an often competitive industry.
This experience motivated me to attend more networking moments and become more active in building industry connections.
